Internal Networks
Private networks deployments join to reach each other.
An internal network gives deployments private IPs and lets them find each other by name. Between nodes, traffic goes over the same encrypted QUIC tunnel as everything else on Unisrv.
The api and postgres deployments both join the internal network 10.0.0.0/16. From api, the name postgres resolves to postgres's instance IP 10.0.0.7. A worker deployment outside the network cannot resolve postgres.
Things to know
- No ports to declare.
postgres:5432works if postgres listens on 5432.portand services are only for inbound HTTP. - Both sides join the same network. A deployment without one can't resolve names or be resolved.
- Several replicas, several IPs. The name returns every running instance.
- Any IPv4 range, default
10.0.0.0/16. Changing it replaces the network and every deployment on it.
